Furniture
The shade in place, all that remains is to sit down.
Beneath a sail, one stops. The furniture begins there: each piece is drawn for a place, after the sail and with the same line. At Évian, the line follows the water; at Gassin, the vine. These are still studies: the images show the pieces before they are made.
Loungers
The backrest opens out like a shell, with the ripple of a calm wave. The champagne-coloured frame stays visible beneath the fabric; the turquoise patterns recall the water and sky of Lake Geneva. The loungers stand on wheels: they are moved with the shade, through the day.
Table
One sits at it beneath the sail, facing the rows of vines. Under the top, the legs divide like vine shoots, cross, meet, then reach down to the ground. The wood stays pale and keeps its grain. On the drawing, it is named Albarello. Redrawn in February 2025, a second version rests on more substantial legs.
Chair and stools
The chair and the tall counter stools take up the line of the table: uprights that bend like vine stocks, a soft seat. The counter stands against the old stone of the estate; one stays there a moment longer.
